Commitment and Organisation

After being selected as Degree Show Team Leader I was given the task of managing our end of year work exhibition. This involved overlooking the curation of the show’s theme, design, build, digital touch points and overall logistics. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 outbreak the show was cancelled, however I learned an abundance about leadership and working with different types of people, and overall found the experience rewarding. I really enjoyed the collaboration aspect of the degree show, as it meant working with a lot of talented and creative people.

After working on a live project with the clothing brand Sunspel and producing other high quality reports over my years of study, I feel I have obtained an eye for strategy and find enjoyment in curating plans to meet targets and drive results. Working at John Lewis has also allowed me to put my understanding of KPI's into practise.

I am proud to have supported myself and worked continuously throughout education since I was 17. I feel my committment to my job and holding the ability to spread myself across my job, degree and social life resembles excellent organisation and time management.

Research and analytical skills

I would describe myself as approachable, outgoing and a people person. My dream job would be as part of a team where ideas can bounce off a variety of creative and strategic people. Alongside this, I hold an interest in communication strategy and using my inner creative to produce tailored plans for brands.

I frequently put myself out of my comfort zone as I feel it is what makes me learn faster and better. In order to develop myself I understand mistakes are inevitable and in fact you learn more from this process. Throughout my part time job at John Lewis I have had to adapt to several changes as the retail landscape gets harsher by the year. This has made me versatile and adaptable to routines and processes.

University projects have allowed me to develop skills in market research and data collection. My final year work included networking with industry experts and target consumers to collect supporting data for both research projects. My analytical skills allowed me to develop key insights from this data, enabling stronger tensions to be outlined for a solution to be created.
